The Black Vulture is a common species in Argentina and has a widespread distribution. This individual came to rest right beside me while i was trying to photograph soaring Andean Condors in the Parques Nacionales Quebrada del Condorito.
At first i was perplexed by this behaviour, but then realised that the vulture was after water trapped in a small rock pool about 5m from where i was sitting.
The bird completely ignored me and drank from the pool, even after i got up and moved further away to capture some images of the entire bird.
