Kirstenbosch was recently named one of the top botanical gardens in the world. It serves as a very important refuge to many of the Cape Peninsula's faunal species, especially birds. It is undoubtable one of the top destinations in Cape Town to visit and is a great location for photography.

It is best to get a map guide for the garden layout at the entrances. Ask at information what is in flower when you visit. Otherwise just stroll through the gardens and just shoot as you go.

Macro lens and medium zoom are perfect for both flowers and birds. A flash, tripod and cable release is recommended, especially for photographing during mid day.
