Boyes Drive

Boyes Dr scenic drive is one of Cape Towns little gems. Linking the suburb of Lakeside with the small suburb of Kalk Bay, this drive is elevated above the suburbs and runs along the lower slopes of the Muizenberg Mountains.

The drive provides magnificent views over False Bay. During whale season this drive provides the perfect vantage point for whale spotting. Great White sharks, Cape Fur seals and pelagic sea birds can also be spotted from here. Large schools of dolphins can be watched as they corner and feed on schools of fish, followed by a host of birds also feeding off the fish. Cape Gannets can often be seen diving into the school of fish.

The slopes of Muizenberg mountain provide Mountain Fynbos habitat and a wide variety of flowers and birds can be easily photographed here, especially as the birds are less skittish along this busy road.
