Cape Agulhas

The rugged coastline within the Agulhas National Park and at the southern tip of Africa draws thousands of people to the point where many contest that the warm Indian Ocean meets with the cold Atlantic. The visitors stand next to the plaque, showing their position right on the edge of Africa, have their photograph taken and then generally rush off elsewhere and thus miss many of the wonders that the area actually has to offer. The area offers the Struisbaai Fishing Harbour, Agulhas Lighthouse, ship wrecks along the coast and good birding and landscape photographic opportunities.
