In Celebration Of Sharks Hot

Wild Thing | ©Allen Walker Photography | Marine Week 2914

Sharks are the apex predators in the oceans yet they are under severe pressure from over-exploitation.

In our second guest blog post in celebration of Marine Week, we bring you a spectacular underwater image portfolio of sharks, by photographer Allen Walker.

We hope you are as mesmerised by their grace and beauty as we are. The oceans and all their creatures require our urgent attention and action. Through the expert underwater photography of photographers like Allen, hopefully we can inspire that action.

Allen says, "By my nature I want to show the world what beauty lies above and beneath and how we as individuals perceive and capture it. I believe images of beauty and creativity will have a far better impact on the drive for conservation than ones showing human destruction.Behind the scenes I work hard to ensure that conservation issues close to heart are supported in the best way I can. Be this through assistance, imagery, sponsorship, or direct involvement. We do, however, believe that it is important to address issues on our doorstep first! In this way we learn and we can then help others address conservation issues in their spheres"

The shark image portfolio below is testament to that statement:
